Newton, MS

Willie C. "Shep" Warren of Newton, MS died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. He was born Monday, August 17, 1925 in Neshoba County, MS.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton, MS. Burial will follow at Newton County Memorial Gardens. Rev. Wayne Sellers will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - North is in charge of arrangements. (601)635-3200

Mr. Warren who was 90 years, 9 months and 23 days old was a WW II Veteran serving in the Navy with 4 major battle stars in the Pacific Operations. After separating from the Navy he served in the Marine Corp Reserve for four years. He was retired from Bellsouth Telephone Company, a member of the First Methodist Protestant Church of Newton, a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion. He was an avid motorcyclist, square dancer, country western dancer, bowler, golfer, hunter and fisherman. He and Mary enjoyed their vacations in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie A. and Sadie Warren; brother - Roy A. Warren, sister - Kathleen Mills; son - Jerry Robert Warren; daughter - Ann Marie Warren; former wife and mother of his children, Ouida Hopper Warren, and former wife, Sarah Speed Warren.

Survivors include his wife - Mary Warren; son - Johnnie Allen Warren; daughter - Linda Frances Pulido; grandchildren: Scott Pulido, Jake Pulido, Michael Pulido, Robin Warren; 9 Great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; brother - Dudley Warren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins,

Pallbearers will be Scott Pulido, Jake Pulido, Jake James Pulido, Michael Pulido, Nathan Pulido and Bud Warren,

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
