Obituary

Services for Mr. William F. Poole will be held at Newton County Funeral Home, North Location at 10:00am on Tuesday, 12/29/2009 with Pastor Gary Felton officiating. Burial will be in the Lawrence Cemetery. Newton County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. 601-635-3200

Mr. Poole, 85, of Lawrence, MS, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at the MS State Veterans Home in Kosciusko, MS.

He was a dedicated husband, father, and friend. A resident of Newton County for over 60 years and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener that enjoyed nature's course. Mr. Poole was known as one of the finest Detroit Diesel mechanics in the area.

Survivors include: Children: Pat Felton,(Gary) Newton, MS, Barbara S. Lackey,(Jim) Pell City, Al, William F. Poole, Jr.,(Debbie) Newton, MS, and Kenneth R. Poole,(Donna) Newton, MS;
Sisters:Merle Brown, Dorothy Poole, Jeannie Maltby
Brother: Olin Poole
10 Grandchildren, 13 Great-grandchildren, 7 Great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by:Parents: John Oliver Poole, Bessie Jane Poole
Wife: Mary Louise Poole
Son:Jerry Wayne Poole
Brothers:James Poole, Bobby Gerald Poole
Sisters: Margie Brown, Janie Doss
Grandson: Will Felton.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Poole, Charlie Poole, Lucas Poole, Curtis Poole, John Shellenback, and Jamie Nance.

Honorary Pallbearers: Robert Byrne, Ronnie Thomas, Calvin McGee, Elbert Jackson, Clark Adams, Charles Gibbs and C.C. Thomason.

Visitation will be Monday, December 28, 2009, from 5-8pm at Newton County Funeral Home North, in Newton, MS.
