Mr. William Phillip "Bill" Eldridge, 85 of Lawrence passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 1:45 pm at Newton County Funeral Home - South. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm at Newton County Funeral Home - South Chapel. Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Lawrence. Bro. Ryan Cozart and Bro. Steve Robinson will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Eldridge was a native of Kemper County, and a longtime resident of Lawrence. He was retired from the Mississippi Department of Agriculture, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a Christian by faith and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Alma Dotson Eldridge; sisters, Martha Busholon and Jane Dudley.

Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Mrs. Novielene Gibbs Eldridge of Lawrence; son, Mike Atkinson (Sherry) of Lawrence; daughter, Cindy Thorne (Stanley) of Lawrence; sister, Dot Howley of New Orleans, LA; grandson, Jamie Woodham (Lycrisha) of Lawrence;  great grandchildren, Macie Woodham and Ethan Woodham.

Pallbearers will be Mike Spence, Mark Spence, Chris Vaughn, Chris Meadows, Tim Mars, and Zack Wright.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Todd, Bobby Clark, and Jay Chesney.

Newton County Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements.
