William Edgar Turman, 79, of Newton, MS died Saturday, August 12, 2017 at his home in Newton, MS. He was born Wednesday, September 8, 1937 in Lambert, MS.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 14, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Newton County Funeral Home-North in Newton with funeral service to follow. Burial in Newton County Memorial Gardens. Bro. William Savell and Bro. Lewis May will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements. (601)635-3200
William was a Methodist by faith and a faithful resident of Newton County for over 52 years. He was a loyal employee of J.B. Hunt trucking for many years. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends and all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer Turman, mother, Imogene Smith Turman, brothers, Chester Turman and J.D. Turman and sister, Maxine Turman Gibbs.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Laird Turman, son, William Bryan Turman (Lee), daughter, Gwendolyn Ann Turman and sister, Peggy Norman.
Pallbearers will be Steve Freeman, Cody Steele, Kevin Laird, Scott Norman, Mike Norman and Mickey May.
