William Marion Brackeen Jr., 87 of Hickory, MS, died Friday, December 26, 2014 at his residence in Hickory, MS.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Newton County Funeral Home North in Newton, MS with Bro. Jackie Strebeck and Gary Howse officiating. Burial will be in Sand Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at Newton County Funeral Home North on Sunday, December 28, 2014.
Mr. Brackeen was a life long resident of Hickory, MS. He retired after 42 years of working with ICG Railroad Company. He enjoyed spending time fishing with his life long friends. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his dog, Bear. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and neighbor.
Mr. Brackeen was an active member of Hickory Methodist Church and also a Mason for 60 years.
He will truly be missed by all that knew him.

Survivors Include: One daughter, Janice (Lamar) Floyd; sons: Mike(Suzijo) Brackeen and Riley Keith Brackeen; daughter-in-law Wanda Brackeen; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister-in-law Charlotte Brackeen.
