Obituary

William Leroy "Bill" Breidinger, 73, of Decatur, Mississippi, passed away Thursday at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Thursday, August 14, 1947, in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home-South in Newton, Mississippi, with Funeral Services immediately following. Burial will follow in Decatur City Cemetery. Bro. Bruce Taylor will officiate with assistance from Jake and Sara Jo Wilson. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200

Mr. Bill served in the Mississippi Air National Guard for 6 years. He spent many years in the sewing industry, and he also worked in the lab for MDOT. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but he truly loved hunting and collecting Indian Artifacts. He was the president of the Magnolia State Archaeological Society. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Etta Breidinger.

Survivors include his wife, Deanna Breidinger, daughter, Marcie (Jay) Collins, grandchildren, Parker Collins, JC Collins, Piper Collins, sister, Linda Cumberland, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Cumberland, Charles Boggan, Frank Kirtley, Todd Pillsbury, Mike McGrevey, and Jerry Freeman.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Magnolia State Archaeological Society.
