William R. "Bill" Averett, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Bill Averett, age 83, passed away on January 10, 2018.
Bill was born in Mobile, AL to George Lorenz Averett and Lillie Scott Averett. He was a long time resident of Newton. He spent most of his life as a service station owner/mechanic and later worked for MDOT several years until retirement.
He is survived by son Randy Averett, Jr. (Linda),daughters, Benita Averett Murphy (Pat), Patricia Averett and Jo Ellen Averett (Michael Graham); sister Jeanette Averett Greene; step-son, Rusty White (Robin) and step-daughter, Donna Angel; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by wife Grace White Averett; parents George and Lillie Averett.
Visitation will be held Monday,January 15, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home-South with funeral service at 2:00 PM. Dr. Brian Rushing will officiate. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to a charity of your choice.
