Funeral services for Willia Jo McCormick will be 10 A.M. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Newton County Funeral Home - South Chapel with Dr. Charles Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5 P.M. - 8 P.M. at Newton County Funeral Home - South on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
Mrs. McCormick, 83 of Newton died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. She loved her family and was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed working in the yard and tending to her flowers. She loved to crochet and make blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted servant of the Lord, reading her Bible daily, and spending time in prayer. She was a longtime faithful member of Newton Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons: Keith McCormick, and wife Sara of Hattiesburg and Steve McCormick, and wife Sonya of Newton; five grandchildren: Vanessa Wall and husband Shane of Decatur; Celeste Hurst and husband Mike of Madison; Kayla McCullough and husband Josh of Newton; Kevin McCormick of Hattiesburg and Seth McCormick of Newton; nine great-grandchildren: Hayden Wall, Harrison Wall,
Anna Reagan Hurst, Amelia Hurst, Asa Hurst, Ainsley Hurst, Tristan McCullough, Tana McCullough and Kane McCormick; one sister: Vera Smith of Louin and one brother: Lewis Wilson and wife Liz of Newton; one sister-in-law: Waureen Wilson of Newton; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Paul McCormick; one daughter: Paulette Reece; one granddaughter: Laura McCormick; parents: A.Y. Wilson, Sr., and Mabel Elizabeth Hardy Wilson; two sisters: Lula Alice Holladay and Elizabeth Boutwell; and two brothers: A.Y. Wilson and Tom Hardy Wilson.
Pallbearers: Kevin McCormick, Seth McCormick, Shane Wall, Mike Hurst, Josh McCullough, David Wilson, Hayden Wall, Asa Hurst, Harrison Wall, and Tristan McCullough.
