Wanda Anne Smith,  age 58, and a resident of Little Rock, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Diversicare of Meridian.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 11:00 am until 11:50 am at Duffee Baptist Church, with services beginning at 12:00 pm. Her father, John Gilbert will officiate.

Burial will follow in Duffee Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Newton County Funeral Home.

Wanda will be remembered as a loving daughter and sister.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Marie Laird.

Survivors include her son, Russell James Haydel of Little Rock; father, John W. Gilbert, Jr.  (Cheri) of Chunky;  one brother, Eric Jason Gilbert (Stephanie) of Chunky;  two step-brothers, Clifton Barry Winkleman (Amy) of Waco, TX and Kenny Beasley (Dawn) of Lake Jackson, TX;  two step-sisters, Brenda Messina (Phil) of Baton Rouge, LA and Karen Bergeron (Michael) of Houston, TX;  several nieces  and nephews also survive.
