Oscar Walton "Walter" Walker, 78, of Newton, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at King's Daughter Medical Center in Brookhaven, Mississippi. He was born Wednesday, December 30, 1942 in Mobile, Alabama.

Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Newton County Memorial Gardens.  Bro. Justin Chaney will officiate.  Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200

Walter was a lifelong resident of Newton County.  He retired from La-Z-Boy after 37 years.  He enjoyed working on cars, traveling, and watching westerns.  Walter will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and the stories that he would tell.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Walker; parents, Oscar and Albertine Walker and brother, Raymond Walker.

Survivors include son, Chris (Laurie) Walker; daughters, Kim (Robert) Whitlock and Brandi Walker; grandson, Kyle Walker; granddaughter, Makaylin Walker; brother, Johnny Walker; mother-in-law, Thelma Boutwell; and special friend Carroll Crowley.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Cleveland, George Williams, Jason Rains, Clint Rains, John Brannon, and J.P. Brannon.
