W. F. "Dub" Jay, 95, of Newton, Mississippi, died Thursday, January 14, 2021, at his home in Garlandville, Mississippi. He was born Sunday, September 27, 1925, in Enterprise, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home-North. Funeral Services will follow in the chapel at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens. Bro. David Jay will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200

Mr. Jay was a Navy Veteran, having served two years in World War II. He was a self-employed welder before working in the maintenance department at La-Z-Boy, where he retired in 1987.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Ruth Jay; parents, R. M. and Nina Jay; sisters, Elizabeth Tillman and Elouise Garvin; brothers, Harlan Jay, Qunion Jay, Lavelle Jay, Clyde Jay, and Clois Jay.

Survivors include his sons, Willie Jay (Debra), Dennis Jay, and Tim Jay (Tamara); brother, Douglas Jay, Sr. (Sara); eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Jay.
