Newton, MS - Services for Virginia Saxton Simmons will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Newton County Funeral Home - South in Newton, MS. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Newton, MS with Newton County Funeral Home - South in charge of arrangements (601-635-3200). Dr. Brian Rushing will officiate.
Mrs. Simmons, 94, died Monday, September 28, 2015. She was born Friday, July 8, 1921 in Picayune, MS.
She is preceded in death be her Husband, Blucher Simmons; Son, Gregory Simmons; Father, Wilford Eugene Saxton, and Mother Maude Saxton.
She is survived by her children, Donna Payne and Sidney Simmons; her grandchildren; and sister, Betty Saxton Lawrence.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Newton County Funeral Home - South in Newton.
