Thomas B. Griffin, 76, of Lawrence, MS passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016. He was born Saturday, February 17, 1940 in Lake, MS.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton. Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawrence, MS. Bro. James McMillan will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - North is in charge of arrangements. (601)635-3200
Mr. Griffin was a lifelong resident of Lawrence, MS. He retired from La-Z-Boy after 36 plus years as a supervisor. He was an outdoor enthusiast. He also enjoyed spending time with his family both near and far. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his Parents James "Sam" and Mary Ruth Griffin.
Survivors include his Wife of 53 years Alice Griffin, Son - Shannon Griffin (Gail), Daughter - Sharon Walker, Grandchildren: Kyle Walker, Taylor Griffin, Trent Posey (Laura), Makaylin Walker; Great Grandchildren - Leyton Posey, Jet Posey, Brothers - Jerry Griffin (Barbara), Sam Griffin (Valerie) and several nieces and nephews who were very dear to him along with his favorite four-legged friend Yo Yo.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Walker, William Partridge, Jay Griffin, Stanley West, Jeff Farrell and Trent Posey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Doyle Gibbs and Jerry Glaze
