Funeral services for Thomas James "Tom" Anderson will be 11 A.M. , on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Newton County Funeral Home North Chapel with Bro. Jess Dilley officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M. at prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mr. Anderson, 91 of Decatur, died Monday, July 7, 2014 at MS State Veteran's Home at Kosciusko. He was a lifetime resident of Decatur and a graduate of Mississippi State University. He worked as an agriculture educator for veterans and for the MS Dept. of Agriculture. He was a WWII Air Force Veteran. He was the owner/operator of Anderson Dairy at Decatur over 60 years.
Survivors Include two sons: Mike Anderson and wife Kathy of Decatur; Max Anderson and wife Pat of Decatur; four grandchildren: Jennifer Pierce and husband Robbie of Brandon; Ty Anderson and wife Ashley of Decatur; Blair Comans and husband Kody of Decatur and Dru Dilley and husband Jess of Crystal Springs; seven great-grandchildren: Britt, Bree, and Bella Pierce; Addie Grace, Hayes, and Caroline Anderson; Clark Comans
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years: Johnnie Lou VanHooser Anderson; his parents: James Wesley and Olga Curry Anderson; two sisters: Mary Hamill and Zelle Gliddon; one brother:
Melburn Anderson and one infant son: Mark Anderson.
Pallbearers: Joedy Pennington, Kody Comans, Robbie Pierce, Ty Anderson, Jim Anderson and Charles Boggan.
Honorary Pallbearers: Fred Gliddon and Bob Hamill.
