Shirley Ann Vance, 84, of Newton, Mississippi, died Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Castlewoods Place in Brandon, Mississippi. She was born Monday, March 23, 1936 in Lawrence, Mississippi.
Private Family Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Newton County Memorial Gardens. Rev Gary Howse will officiate. The graveside service will be live streamed providing internet availability. Log onto www.facebook.com/newtoncountyfuneralhome to access the Live Stream Feed. Shirley was very active in her church and the United Methodist Women. Her love was for her family. She enjoyed her yard and her flowers very much. Her sewing and machine embroidery were some of her favorite hobbies. Shirley was a diligent housewife, a great mother, and a wonderful cook. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Vance; her parents, Mason and Mary Dennis; one sister, Susan Savell.
Survivors include her children, Dr. Gregory Alan Vance (Martha Jo) and Jayne Vance Crenshaw (Charles); grandchildren, Cari Crenshaw Zetterholm (Eric), C.N. "Chuck" Crenshaw, IV (Lauren), and Gregory Vance; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Glenn Dennis (Becky), Alfred M. Dennis (Margaret), Linda D. Derrick (Robert), and Nita Carr.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Vance, Chuck Crenshaw, Chuck Cooper, Rusty Cooper, Cody Savell, and Ricky Russell.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Newton United Methodist Church.
