Selby Arnell Stamper, 76, of Conehatta, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019, at his home. He was born Friday, April 23, 1943 in Meridian, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2019, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home-North. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will be in Conehatta Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Tod Thompson and Bro. William Savell will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200

Arnell was Conservation Officer for Newton County for 34 years. He loved to fish, farm, and raise cows.

He was preceded in death by parents, Selby and Gladys Stamper; siblings, Deloris Speed, Hershel Stamper, and Charles Stamper.

Survivors include wife, Donna Stamper; son, James Stamper (Brenda); grandchildren, Katelyn Matthews (Jeffrey), Jamie Stamper, and Karlie Stamper; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ted Horn, Justin Horn, Buddy Staggs, Jeffrey Matthews, Stan McCraney, and Chris Ezell.
