Sarah Polly Harris Walker, age 83, passed away on March 18, 2018.
Polly was born October 6, 1934, in Rose Hill, MS to Joseph and Hettie Harris. Polly married James Walker of Hickory April 3, 1954.
She is survived by sons, Jimmy Walker (Debbie) and William "Billy" Edward Walker (Melinda); daughter, Hedy Walker (Jim Bishop); sisters, Bonnie Woods, MaryAnne Aycock, Bobbie Jo Morris, Dot Sandifer; brothers, Hulon Harris, Fred Harris and Samuel Harris; grandchildren, Keith Walker (Emily), Jake Walker (Krystle) and Jamie Bishop; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Sam Sandifer, Jim Youngblood, Dan Walker, Ronnie Harris, Warren Shepherd, Keith Walker, Richard Douglas, David Morris, and Willie Mosley,Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walker; parents, Joseph and Hettie Harris; brothers, Jesse Harris and Hubert Harris.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 22nd of March, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home- North. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home- North. Bro. Mike Rasberry will be officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be given to The American Cancer Society or any cancer association of your choosing.
