Sandra Faye Wood Allen
(August 2, 1946 – June 30, 2025)

Sandra Faye Wood Allen, 78, of Newton, MS, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the Bedford Care Center of Newton in Newton, Mississippi. Born on August 2, 1946, in Sylacauga, Alabama, Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

She was a proud member of the Newton Church of Christ in Newton, MS, and a 1965 graduate of BB Comer Memorial High School in Sylacauga, Alabama. Sandra enjoyed cooking, supporting the University of Alabama football, and most of all, taking care of and spending time with her loving family and friends.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Lee Allen; her son, Christopher J. Allen; her daughter, Darla E. Allen; her grandchildren, Christian S. Allen (Cecilia), Natalie M. Allen, Brandon G. Allen, and Waylon W. Vaughn; her sister, Eunell Thompson (Jimmy); and a host of other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carla D. Allen; her parents, Ewell and Mary Jones Wood; her brother, William Edwin Wood; and her sisters, Karen Smith and Maureen Leggett.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Newton County Funeral Home - South, located at 100 Old Highway 15 Loop, Newton, MS. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the same location, with Bro. Brent Parks officiating. Burial will take place in Lawrence Cemetery in Lawrence, Mississippi. Arrangements are under the care of Newton County Funeral Home - South.
