Sammy Ford, 75 of Newton, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was born Tuesday, January 31, 1950, in Collins, Mississippi.

A celebration of life service will be at a later date.

He was a graduate of Taylorsville High School and a retired field supervisor with Southern Pine Electric Power Association after 44 years of service. In his younger years, he served as president of B.A.S.S. Federation of Mississippi. He was also a volunteer fireman, a referee for high school football, and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. He loved his grandchildren very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mildred Hutton Ford.

Survivors include his wife of almost 48 years, Cassie Ford of Newton; one son, Robert Ford (Penny) of Decatur;  one daughter, Katie Moffett (Jeremy) of Meridian; four grandchildren, Carlee Ford, Russell Ford, Gavin Moffett, and his fiancé, Sydney Goodman, and Charlotte Irby; one sister, Iris Nichols (Gary) of Taylorsville; one niece and one nephew also survive.
