Ruby Lee Stegall Shoemaker, 86 of Decatur, MS, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Rush Foundation Hosptial in Meridian, MS.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Newton County Funeral Home North in Newton, MS with Bro. Eddie Shoemaker officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens in Newton, MS.

Mrs. Shoemaker was married to Grover Shoemaker for 69 years. She loved her grandchildren & great grandchildren, collecting teapots, painting, gardening, and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Bert Stegall & Leo Payne Stegall and three brothers: Berton, Leon, & Frank Stegall.

Mrs. Shoemaker is survived by her husband of 69 years: Grover Shoemaker of Decatur, MS; five sons: Duwayne Shoemaker & his wife Debra of New Albany, MS, David Shoemaker & his wife Tammy of Decatur, MS, Danny Shoemaker & his wife Anita of Decatur, MS, Dolan Shoemaker of Columbus, MS, and Doyle Shoemaker & his wife Stacie of Decatur, MS; nine grandchildren: Diana McMillen & husband Jeremy of New Albany, MS, Dustin Shoemaker & his wife Dawn of Slidell, LA, Derrick Shoemaker & his wife Joanna of Decatur, MS, Denise Ferguson & her husband Chris of Hickory, MS, Megan Sistrunk & her husband Trey of Union, MS, Casey Shoemaker of Decatur, MS, Danielle Black & her husband Haden of Horn Lake, MS, Christina Shoemaker of Decatur, MS, and Eli Crenshaw of Decatur, MS; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers: Dustin Shoemaker, Derrick Shoemaker, Casey Shoemaker, Jeremy McMillen, Chris Ferguson, Trey Sistrunk, Haden Black, & Eli Crenshaw.
