Roy Anthony Pete was born Friday, February 20, 1931 in Metarie, Louisiana.  He passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the Mississippi Veterans Nursing Home in Kosciusko at the age of 92.

He was preceded in death by one son, Tracy Pete; one daughter, Lynell Twiner; his parents, John Rupert and Alma Carrie Tharp Pete; three sisters and eight brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Carol Mayfield Pete of Newton; two sons, Larry Roy Pete of Kenner, LA and Tony Pete of Las Vegas, NV; one step-son, Jon Beryl Deal of Newton; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
