Robert Glen "Bob" Willis, 92 of Newton, passed away Tuesday, February 08, 2022 at the St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Friday, May 10, 1929 in Newton, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Newton County Funeral Home - South in 100 Old Highway 15 Loop, Newton, MS.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 11:30 am at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi. Military funeral honors will be rendered by the United States Army Funeral Honor Guard.
Dr. James Lee Spencer, pastor of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
Newton County Funeral Home – South is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Willis was a longtime resident of Newton, having retired from the McClendon Cheese Company, as production manager after almost thirty years of service. He was a Korean War veteran, having served his country in the United States Army. As testified by friends and family, he was a good man, who will be missed. He was a Christian by testimony of his faith and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 66 years, Mrs. Beth J. Willis, his father, Albert Willis; mother, Willie Adams Willis; his two brothers, Douglas Willis and Clifford "Buddy" Willis, and his one sister: Barbara Jean Roddy.
Survivors include his sons, David Willis (Suzanne) of Brandon, and Robert Willis (Kathy) of Fayettevile, GA; his two grandsons, Morgan Willis and Evan Willis, and his fiancé, Teresa Hill, all of Flowood; his two half-brothers: Ken Willis and Bill Willis, both of Lancaster, S.C.
Pallbearers will be Morgan Willis, Evan Willis, Jerry Jones, William Jones, Tony Adams, and Paul Edwards.
