Ricky A. Cavenaugh, age 64, and a resident of Chunky, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 10:00 am until 10: 50 am at Chunky Community Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11:00 am at Chunky Community Church. Burial will follow in Chunky Cemetery.

Bro. Sam Brown, Bro. Gerald Chaney, and Bro. Adrian Cavenaugh will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alton "Cat Eye" Cavenaugh; his mother, Evelyn Whaley Hull; one sister, Shirley Gardner (Jimmy) and one brother, Johnny Burns.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Bray Cavenaugh of Chunky;  three children, Adam Cavenaugh (Donna) of Hickory; Joy Scott (Brooks) of Meridian and Jared Cavenaugh (CeCee) of Randolph; seven grandchildren, Tyler Cavenaugh (Audrie), Brighton Cavenaugh, Brady Scott, Grayson Scott, Kimber  Scott, Cace Cavenaugh and Maddux Cavenaugh;  three siblings,  Adrian Cavenaugh (Dawn) of Brandon, Heather Cavenaugh of Lawrence and Joseph Cavenaugh (Melanie) of Laurel;  his step-mother, Lynn Cavenaugh of Decatur and  numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Adam Cavenaugh, Jared Cavenaugh, Brooks Scott, Daniel Grimes, Tyler Cavenaugh, Jamie Wright, and Joseph Cavenaugh.

Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Lee Harris, Tony Grimes, and Adrian Cavenaugh.

Newton County Funeral Home - North, 9998 Hwy. 15 N., Newton, is in charge of arrangements.
