Richard Allen Fletcher,  76 of Hickory, died Monday April 4, 2022 at his residence.

He retired from Roadway express 36 plus years. Then he went  to work driving a log truck with his friend David Measell. He also loved his dragstrip car. He would go to the track with Joseph and his friends Jeff Frederick  and David Measell. He had a whole lot of friends but David and Jeff were his close friends. They were there for him when my mom passed away.   He loved working on cars, four wheeling with Joseph ( mudding) walking, fishing,he use to play golf and he loved his pretty green grass. He was always busy doing something.  He was a wonderful hard working Dad. He provided for and loved his family. He could make you laugh when you were down.  He will truly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard Carl and Florence Clara Kaufman Fletcher; His wife: Ella Susan Fletcher; His daughter: Cynthia Kay McConnell; his grandson; Jacob Bradley Old.

Survivors include his daughters: Laura Jean Rife of Columbus, OH; Pamela Sue Harris Fletcher of Columbus, OH; Susan Elaine Old of Columbus, OH; his son: Frederick Richard Fletcher of Meridian, MS; sisters: Carole Fletcher of Upper Arlington, OH; Suzanne Davenport and her husband Warren of White, GA; 14 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.
