Rhonda Lynn Rogers, age 70, and a current resident of Philadelphia, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the Specialty Hospital of Meridian.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Cemetery at Union. Burial will follow the graveside service under the direction of Newton County Funeral Home.

Rhonda was born Saturday, April 12, 1952 at Laird Hospital. She worked for the Newton County Health Department as a secretary. She was a simple person who enjoyed the simple things of life, and loved her only grandson, Tucker, very much.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael McElhenney; father, Roger McElhenney; mother, Martha Eshee McElhenney; brother, Rodney McElhenney; niece, Kristy Freeny.

Survivors include her sister, Marcia McElhenney Boswell (Ted) of Carthage; grandson, Tucker McElhenney; niece, Kari McGee (Zach) and her honorary sister: Jan McNeil, for her love and care for Rhonda during her illness.

There will be no visitation.
