Reid Hamilton Mackey, Sr., 85, of Newton, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Anderson's Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi. He was born Wednesday, August 23, 1933 in Greene County Pennsylvania.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Bro. Steve Pouncey will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200

He was preceded in death by his parents, Parker and Grace Olive Mackey; his step-son, Bill Riggle.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Mackey; his children, Reid Mackey, Jr. (Karen), Brian Leonard Mackey (Kim), Micheal Mackey, and Robin Jeanette Sprague (Kevin); his two step-sons, Lee Riggle (Diane) and Gene Riggle (Lynn); his daughter-in-law, Sherry Riggle.
