Randell Edward Nelson, 65 of Newton, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 1:30 pm at Newton County Funeral Home - South Chapel.

Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery.

Bro. Victor Bugg and Bro. Mark McDonald will officiate.

There will be no public visitation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Edward and Nellie Ruth Gibbs Nelson.

Survivors include his one sister, Martha Sibley (Henry); two nephews, Aaron Sibley (Brooke) and Brian Sibley; one great-nephew, Jace Sibley and one great niece, Maggie Sibley.

Pallbearers will be Steven Copeland, Sam Thames, Jimmy Welch, David Mabry, Richard Luke, and Billy Copeland.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Leatherwood, Johnny Coghlan, and Ronnie Blass.

Newton County Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements.
