Peggy Jean Alexander Youngblood

Services for Peggy Jean Youngblood will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Newton United Methodist in Newton, MS . Burial will be at the Ellison United Methodist Church in Vaughan, MS with Newton County Funeral Home - North in charge of arrangements. Rev. Gary Howse will officiate.

Mrs. Youngblood, 77, died Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Anderson's Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. She was born Friday, February 25, 1938.

Mrs. Youngblood retired from teaching mathmatics and computer science. She then later served as church secretary. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards.

She is preceded in death by her parents, L.C. (Joe) and Annie Laura Alexander and her first husband, H.G. (Sapp) Rucker.

She is survived by her husband, James M. Youngblood, Rose Hill, MS, daughter, Karon Newsom (Carl), Edinburg, MS; sons, Leon Rucker (Patti) Vaughan, MS, Scott Youngblood (Hope), Las Vegas, NV, Craig Youngblood (Rowena), Rose Hill, MS, and Jim Youngblood, Flowood, MS; brothers Joe Alexander (Shirley) Elon, N.C., Bill Alexander (Katherine) Vaughan, MS; and 7 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Will Alexander, Jim Alexander, Hunter Newsom, Brad Newsom, Derek Youngblood, and Jeff Boutwell.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 18, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
