Pattye Jean Byrne, 89, of Lawrence, Mississippi, passed away, Monday, December 14, 2020, at her home. She was born Monday, October 19, 1931, in Newton, Mississippi.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, December 18, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Nance Hill Cemetery. Bro. Brent Parks and Bro. Victor Buggs will officiate. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, social distancing and masks are encouraged. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 683-2152

Pattye was the Postmaster for Lawrence for 29 years. She was a member of Lawrence Baptist Church since 1953, where she served as the church treasurer for over 30 years. Pattye enjoyed sewing with her quilting group, Nance Hill Quilters, and was a member of the Lake/Lawrence Lions Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mildred Nance; brother, Jimmy Nance; daughter, Cindy Bower; grandson, Robert George Bower.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Byrne; daughter, Marilyn Hill (Gregg); grandchildren, Andy Bower (Elissa), Stephen Bower (Katie), and Mary Byrne Hill; great-grandson, Elliott Bower; nephews, Judd Nance (Libby) and Jamie Nance (Teresa); son-in-law, Patrick Bower.

Pallbearers will be Paul Craven, Gregg Hill, Andy Bower, Stephen Bower, Larry Mathis, Judd Nance, and Jamie Nance.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pattye's caregivers, Karen Avery, Darah Avery, Roshell Bogan, Nitiesha Brown, and Keyona Beal.
