Pat Vaughn, 81, of Newton, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Mississippi. She was born Thursday, October 5, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Newton. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 18, 2021, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Newton, and the Burial will follow in Newton County Memorial Gardens. Dr. Frank Harmon will officiate. Pat grew up in Kilbourne, Louisiana and was a graduate of Kilbourne High School. She married Jake Vaughn September 11, 1959. The happy couple moved to Newton in 1964.

Pat was a woman of faith and lived her life serving others. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Newton and especially loved singing in the senior adult choir. She retired from the Newton County Health Department after 25 years of service. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Pat had a passion for growing daylilies, reading, and needlework. She enjoyed being a part of the Garden Club, and has stitched countless heirlooms with love for family and friends to cherish for years to come. She had many talents, and among them was her ability to play the piano "by ear." Pat was well known for her personality and pizazz. She made a memorable impression on everyone who crossed her path. She had a special way of making others feel welcome, adored, and loved. Pat was committed to her family and will be missed, but never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Atha and Virgie Ashley, her sister, Linda Harris, brother-in-law, Sam Harris, and nephew, Mike Harris.

Survivors include her Husband of 62 years, Jake Vaughn, her daughter, Tina Willard (Wayne), her granddaughter, Ashley Faulkner (Joe Brock), her great-granddaughter, Bella James Faulkner, and her great-neices, Misty Whitney and Brandi Atkinson.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Horne, Steve Horne, Jeff Vance, Carl Walters, Chris Weems, and Kirk Weems.
