Otho Lavon Cochran, 78, of Hickory, Mississippi, died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at his residence in Hickory, Mississippi. He was born Friday, December 22, 1939 in Hickory, Mississippi.
Mr. Lavon worked for IC&G Railroad for over 30 years. He was a loving husband and father and will be missed by all knew him.
Mr. Cochran is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gail Cochran; sons, Scotty Cochran and Chris Cochran; sisters, Annie Pearl Scoggin and Dorothy Faye Croy; brother, David Ray Cochran; 11 nieces; and 8 nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Newton County Funeral Home-South, 100 Hwy 15 Loop Newton, MS 39345. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 10:00 AM at New Fellowship Baptist Church, 10 miles south of Hickory, MS and the Burial will follow in New Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Robert Rowzee, Bro. Phillip Gandy and Bro. Ted Dukes will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200
