Nina May Ryder McKee, 90, of Decatur, MS died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at JG Alexander Nursing Home in Union, MS. She was born Wednesday, April 7, 1926 in New York, NY.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Lebanon Church Cemetery at Decatur, MS. Bro. Ben Laird will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements. (601)635-3200

Mrs. McKee was born in New York and grew up on Long Island. She won a scholastic scholarship to Hunter College High School. She graduated in January of 1950 from Hunter College with a B.A. in Chemistry and with a minor in Physics. After college she married Hulon McKee in Houston, TX. They returned to Hulon's hometown of Decatur in 1955 and resided there until their death.

Survivors include her son John Paul McKee and wife Kathy of Lafayette, LA; two granddaughters, Nina Kathryn McKee Junkin and Caitlin McKee; and three great-grandchildren Bronner McKee Junkin, Sawyer Reed Junkin, and Anna Kathryn Junkin.
