Obituary

Mitchell Parker, age 85, and a longtime resident of Newton County, passed away Veterans Day, November 11, 2024 at his home.


Military graveside services will begin at 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Pine Ridge Cemetery. His pastor, Bro. Ben Harper will officiate.

Mitch was a Christian by faith, holding membership with his church family, at Sand Springs. He was a retired mechanic and served his country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Parker;  son, Jeffrey Dale Parker;  father, Howard Parker;  mother, Iva  Lee White Parker;  brothers, Jerry Wade Parker, Miller Parker and Keith Parker;  sister, Annette Parker Hudgens.


Survivors include his sons, Jerry Michael Parker and  Anthony Parker;  daughters, Angie Everett and Beverly Brewer;  numerous grandchildren also survive; one sister, Freida Parker Harvey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and a special couple, Ben and Brenda Harper.


Pallbearers will be Bubba Parker, Jeff Hemphill, Randy Weaver, Stacy Monk, Paul Evans , and Scott Fulton.


Special music will be performed by Bailey Warren Makamson.
