Miriam Lucy Bond, 74 of Brandon, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the University Select Specialty in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born on Saturday, December 11, 1948, in Newton, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Newton County Funeral Home – South, 100 Old Highway 15 Loop, Newton, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Newton County Funeral Home – South. The burial will follow in Carr Methodist Cemetery in Lake, Mississippi. Bro. William Beggiani will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home – South is in charge of arrangements. 601-635-3200

Ms. Miriam was a member of Crossgate Baptist Church in Brandon, MS.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.  She was very avid in praying for everyone and reading her Bible daily.  She enjoyed attending church, singing, shopping, but most of all spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Joseph Bond; mother, Pauline B Charles Bond; sister, Rosalie Wallace; and two daughter's-in-law, Sherri Stewart and Carla Stewart.

Survivors include her two sons, Scott Stewart (Melanie) of Brandon, MS and Corwin Stewart of Union, MS; six grandchildren, Meghan Stewart of Brandon, MS, Blaze Stewart of Brandon, MS, Tymber Stewart of Brandon, MS, Hailey Stewart Coker (Taylor) of Union, MS, Lauren Stewart of Union, MS and Tyler Stewart of Union, MS; one great grandchild, Lennon Coker of Union, MS;  two brothers, Davis Bond (Mary Ann) of Hickory, MS and Sidney Bond (Janice) of Floyd Knobs, IN; two sisters, Rachel Lyles of Meridian, MS and Iona Elizabeth  Bond Lopez (Oscar) of Spring, TX; one brother-in-law, Dave Wallace of Paducah, KY; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jason Ainsworth, Aaron Exum, Taylor Coker, Chad Bond, and Tyler Stewart.
