Michael D. Brackeen , Sr.  age 63, passed away at Anderson's Regional Medical Hospital on May 7, 2018.

Michael was born in Newton, MS to W.M. and Bernice Brackeen . Michael married Suzijo Brackeen of Simpson County on July 4, 1972.

He is survived by his wife Suzijo Brackeen ; son, Mike Brackeen , Jr. (Kim); daughter, Amanda Leach (Mack); grandchildren, Katie Buckley (Bo), Arin Brackeen , Landin Brackeen , Alex Williamson (J.C), Reagan Hamrick (Jared), Corrina Brashear and Manda Rie Leach; great-grandchildren, Ethan Cox, Sadie Buckley, Joseph Buckley, Jensen Creel and Sophie Brackeen ; sister, Janice Floyd; brother, Keith Brackeen ; sister-in-law, Wanda Brackeen and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bill Brackeen , Pete Floyd, Emmett Russell, Jeff Smith, Johnny Glenn and Jason Grissom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.M. and Bernice Brackeen , brother, Wayne Brackeen .

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home- North. Funeral services for will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home- North with Bro. Jamie Leach and Bro. Matthew Hitt officiating. Burial will follow at Sand Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Hickory, Mississippi.
