Mary Lou Moore Stamper, age 89, passed away on June 6, 2018 at Anderson Regional Hospital.

Mary was born in Sylvarena , MS to Clarence Clifford and Mae Stringer Moore. Mary married Robert Stamper March 31, 1951.

Mary was a devoted Christian and loving mother to her family. Mary and Robert Stamper will be remembered by many as owner and operator of R.E. Stamper Service Station and Grocery in Hickory for 25 years. She will be truly missed by her friends, family and all that knew her.

She is survived by children, Cynthia Spears (James), Clifford Stamper, Sr. (Sandra), Mary Gail Jones (William), and Marty Stamper; grandchildren, Carrie Gressett, Skip Stamper, Brandi Jones, Derrick Jones, Ashley Balliet, Christin Stamper, Chase Stamper and Jamie Spears; great-grandchildren, Ashley McCormick; Allyson Gressett, Cody Gressett, Skylar Balliet, David Lee Balliet, Bella Grace Jones, Aubrey Jones, Hanna Harvey, Tripp Stamper, Lilah Stamper, Max Stamper, Nathan Spears, Logan Spears, Allie Spears; great-great- grandchild, Carter McCormick and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Clifford and Mae Stringer Moore, husband, Robert Stamper, brothers, Wellington Moore, Neil Moore, and Clayton Moore; sisters, Lillian Moore James, Shellie Mae Moore Thornton, Eudoyle Moore Grant, Clara Moore Craft, Euna Moore Thornton, Emma Lee Moore Craft, and Nettie Moore Robb.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM with Bro Mike Raspberry and Bro. Douglas Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
