Services for Mary Rowena Rigdon will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton, MS . Burial will be at the Newton County Memorial Garden in Newton, MS with Newton County Funeral Home - North in charge of arrangements. Bro. Chris Shelton will officiate.

Mrs. Rigdon, 84, died Sunday, August 9, 2015.

Mrs. Rowena was born in Union, MS. She was known for being a loving wife, mother, and granny. She was involved with the Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Camp Bailey while living in the Erin Community. After moving to Union she became an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Union. Mrs. Rigdon was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 99 of Philadelphia, MS.

She is preceded in death by her parents Malcolm and Cecil Carey Ezell and one great-granddaughter Zoe.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Denver Rigdon; three sons, Milford D. Rigdon, (Gay), Denis M. Rigdon (Judy), Michael T. Rigdon (Linda), one daughter Yolanda Arthur (Basil); and one brother Duwayne Ezell (Jane).

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Wade Rigdon, Kevin Rigdon, Jason Rigdon, Ryan Rigdon, Kelsi Harkins, Susan Withers, Jake Rigdon, Dewey Arthur, and Lucas Arthur.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton.
