Obituary

Mary Brand Oglesbee, 79, of Hickory, MS died Thursday, April 7, 2016 at The Windsor Place in Columbus, MS. She was born Friday, May 22, 1936 in Newton, MS.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Hickory Baptist Church in Hickory, MS with funeral services will follow at 2:00pm. A private family graveside will follow in Hickory City Cemetery. Dr. David Sellers will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200

Mary was a wonderful, godly woman who loved Jesus, her family and the people God put in her path. She faithfully served along side her husband as a pastor's wife in 5 different churches across Mississippi. She was an amazing school teacher who touched many lives with her patience and kindness. The goal of her life was to please the Lord and her time on this earth was well spent.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Troy Brand, Sr. and Jewel Gibson Brand and her husband, Paul Baylis Oglesbee, Jr.

Survivors include her children, Paul Baylis Oglesbee, III (Wendy), Newton, MS, Kimberly Oglesbee Myers (Gary), New Orleans, LA and Ken Alan Oglesbee (Lisa), Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Christin Oglesbee Jones (Eric), Nashville, TN, Alyssa Paige Oglesbee, Hickory, MS, Michaela Elisabeth Oglesbee, Columbus, MS, Kendra Ann Miller, Newton, MS, Mariah Kathryn Oglesbee, Columbus, MS, Monica Claire Oglesbee, Columbus, MS, Jonathan Paul Myers, New Orleans, LA, and Jon Parker Oglesbee, Columbus, MS; great grandson, Gavin Maverick Jones, Nashville, TN; siblings, William Troy Brand, Jr. (Billie Ruth), Hickory, MS and Mollie Brand Brooks (Billy Gene), Hickory, MS and sister-in-law, Jean Oglesbee Dombrowski, Gulfport, MS.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Bill Brand, Barry Brand, Patrick Ross, Bill Johnson, Ken Morgan, Leslie Slade, Ricky Dombrowski, Andy Dombrowski, Toby Dombrowski Jr., Gary Myers, Joe Clark, Eric Jones and Scott Churylo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
