Lucille Daley Simmons, 81, of Lawrence, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Lackey Memorial Hospital. She was born Tuesday, April 9, 1940, in Jackson, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at First Baptist Newton. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Newton. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Kelly Jordan and Dr. Brian Rushing will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 683-2152

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Sr. and Hazel Daley; two brothers, Charles Daley, Jr. and Howard Daley.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Simmons; brother, James "Jim" Daley (Ruth Ann); sisters-in-law, Joyce Johnson, Shirley Kornman, and Sue Waltman; brother-in-law, Tom Simmons; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tom Simmons, Tad Waltman, Al Kornman, Jim Daley, Billy Waltman, and Gordon Carlson.
