Services for Lewis Earl Everett, Jr. will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton, MS . Burial will be at the Newton County Memorial Garden in Newton, MS with Newton County Funeral Home - North in charge of arrangements. Dr. John Temple will officiate.
Mr. Everett, 52, died Saturday, November 28, 2015. He was born Sunday, January 20, 1963 in Crestview , FL.
Mr. Everett had been a resident of Meridian since 1965. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1981. He received a BA Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Southern Mississippi and Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of West Alabama. He had been a member of the Meridian Police Force for the past 30 years. He was also an active member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Meridian, MS. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Lewis Earl Everett, Sr.; Paternal Grandparents, John Marvin and Burnett Everett; Maternal Grandparents, Emmett and Virgie Walker.
He is survived by: Mother, Joyce Everett; Sister, Melissa Leathers (Kenny); Brother, Douglas Everett; Niece, Anna Katherine Leathers and Nephews William Leathers and Scott Leathers.
The Meridian Police Department will serve as Pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Doug Kelly, David Mayo, Marty Turbeville, Will Leathers, Kevin Montgomery and Cliff Morgan,
Visitation will be held Monday, November 30, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and also 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Newton County Funeral Home - North in Newton. 601-635-3200
