Leland E. Garrison, age 90, of Newton, MS died on January 25, 2022 at his residence in

Newton.

Mr. Garrison, a lifetime resident of the Liberty Community, was a retired pipeline worker and

veteran. He served in the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rowena Garrison, his parents, William and Cora Garrison,

and his siblings Leon Garrison, Leonard Garrison, Cleo Garrison, Billy Garrison, Margorie

Slaide, and Juanita Rainy.

Survivors include: Daughter: Debra L. Jay (William) of Brundidge, AL; Son: Jimmy L. Garrison

(Brenda) of Newton; Grandchildren: Stephanie Brown (Richard) of Florida, Corey Boykin of

Bailey, Bethany Files (Jeremy) of Philadelphia, Heather Garrison of Decatur, Crystal Jones

(Mike) of Newton, and Jeremy Pugh of Hickory; Great-Grandchildren: Victoria Brown, Emma

Brown, Avery Boykin, Aiden Boykin, Meredith Files, and Mason Garrison.
