Funeral services for Lawrence Ray Williams will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11:00 am at Newton County Funeral Home - South Chapel. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery, in the Fellowship community. Bro. Robert Rowzee will officiate.

Mr. Williams, age 76, of Newton, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at his residence. He was an avid woodworker, and retired from McDonald and Hill, as a driver for many years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Hubert Williams; mother, Chester Alline Morgan Williams and sister, Pat Gressett.

Survivors include his son, Michael Williams (Paula) of Hickory; two brothers, Richard Williams and Randy Williams; three sisters, Rilla Knowles (Charles), Glenda McKinion and Anita Turner (Larry); two grandsons, Brandon Williams (Charlsea) and Bryant Williams (Kristen); two great grandchildren, Benton Williams and Carolina Williams.

Visitation will be Thursday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Newton County Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements.
