Mr. Loper retired after 40 years as a lineman with Mississippi Power Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Grandchildren, Gavin and Griffin Bailey; Gunnar and Zander Bounds; Garrett Loper; Danielle, Jesse, and Cierra McGehee; and Braxton Wyatt. Sisters, Linda Cooksey (Ottis), Lisa Gordon (Walter), brother, Randy Loper (Beverly); sister in law, Judy Griffin, and brother in law, Mike Boone; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The "Dog Whisperer" is also survived by his 19 hunting hounds.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Loper; parents Robert and Carlean Loper; and sister Robbie Boone.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Clanton, Johnny Collins, Stevie Lynn Smith, Rayphord Bounds, Jimmy McDowell and Larry Gressett. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Mississippi Power Company.

The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Foundation in lieu of flowers.
