Larry Thomas
Chapman
January 29, 1954 – July 11, 2025
Larry Thomas Chapman, a 71-year-old proud veteran of the United States Army National Guard, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, in his home surrounded by family and loved ones.
Larry was a lifelong resident of Newton, Mississippi. Larry Joined the United States Army National Guard in 1972. Serving both active and reserve until retiring in 2014 with an honorable discharge. Larry was a dedicated employee with La-Z-Boy South for 30 years, retiring in 2017.
Remaining to cherish Larry's memory is his spouse of 48 years, Pamela (Easom) Chapman; daughter, Donna Chapman; grandchildren, Justus Vega and Zathienna Sharp; brother, Frank Chapman; nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and loved ones.
Preceding him in death are daughter, Brandi (Chapman) Vega; and his parents, Thomas Chapman and Ella Frances (Milstead) Chapman.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved spending time outdoors and with family. A many of many trades, passing his knowledge and experience with his children and grandchildren. We find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the loved he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever, whether through quiet strength, heartfelt advice or simply being present, his fatherly love will forever leave a lasting impression.
A time of visitation will commence for family and friends on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 between the hours of 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Newton County Funeral Home South, 100 Old 15 Loop, Newton. A time of celebrating Larry's life will begin on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel where family and friends may gather two hours prior to the services. Military graveside services will follow in the Chapman family plot in the Newton Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Newton County Funeral Home.
