Newton: Services for Mrs. Krissi Harris Munn will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 10,
2024, at Clarke-Venable Baptist Church. Her final resting place will be at Decatur City
Cemetery beside her loving mother. Rev. Mark Vincent will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Newton County Funeral
Home- North.
Krissi Harris Munn, 40, Of Decatur, MS, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024, at her home. She
was born Saturday, December 24, 1983, in Meridian, MS.
Krissi graduated from Newton County High School in 2002. She was an honor student and
excelled in softball where she received numerous awards for her outstanding performance in
right field. One of her biggest accomplishments was being selected as a MAC All Star her
senior year. She went on to play for East Central Community College. In 2004, she was
selected All State while playing for the Lady Warriors, she also was named an Academic All-
American Scholar. Krissi graduated from Mississippi State University in 2007 with a Bachelor's
Degree in Elementary Education, and in 2009, she graduated with a Master's in Educational
Administration from MSU.
She was a devoted wife to Daniel for 16 years, cherished mother of three, and a beloved
member of her community. Known for her passion for sports, thrifting adventures, and crafting
shirts, she brought joy and creativity to all she did. She had a green thumb and found solace in
her garden. Her passion extended to canning and preserving the fruits of her labor. In the most
recent days, she could often be found at the ballfield, where she joyfully cheered on her
children, sharing her competitive spirit with them.
For the past 18 years, Krissi was a teacher for Newton County Elementary School, teaching
first, second, and third grade. Because of the tremendous love and support Krissi received from
her colleagues, she was able to continue teaching throughout her 2-year journey with
Melanoma. Her unwavering dedication to her church was unmistakable through her faithful
attendance and active participation in the church and in the Fishers of Men Sunday School
Class.
In her final message, Krissi conveyed, "I am in a valley, not at the end of my journey."

Sister- in- law: Brandye Vance (Greg)
Nieces: Madeline and Maggie Vance, Caroline and Ella Rose Harris, Everlee Aulds
Nephews: Pierce and Fletcher Aulds
Krissi was preceded in death by her mother, Pam Reeves Harris.
Pallbearers: Robby Thompson, Shannon Cooley, Brian White, Jason Williams, Josh
McCullough, AL Bailey, Greg Vance, and Josh Caldwell.
Honorary Pallbearers: Fishers of Men Sunday School Class
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for contributions to be made to the Newton County Youth
Organization PO Box 1139, Decatur, MS 39327.
