Joseph L. "Buster" Buckley, 78, of Chunky, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. He was born Thursday, January 14, 1943 in Chunky, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Newton County Funeral Home-South in Newton, MS. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Newton County Funeral Home-South and the Burial will follow in Hopewell Baptist Church in Little Rock, MS.  Bro. Wayne Campbell and Bro. Charles Moore will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 635-3200.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Buckley; daughter, Holly Buckley; parents, J.E. and Nora Buckley; and sister, Earnistine Sant.

Survivors include son, Lee (Brandie) Buckley, grandchildren, Aaron Buckley and Kassie Buckley; sisters, Dale (Clint) Huey and Fannie Ruth Williams; and brother, Billy (Sarah) Buckley.

Pallbearers will be Jason Clark, Kyle Pugh, David Measell, Will Uithoven, Steve Pugh, Johnny Buckley, and Michael Williams.
