Obituary

Joseph Clifton Hollingsworth, 98 of Newton, MS, died Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Woodland Court Retirement Center in Newton, MS.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Newton County Funeral Home North in Newton,MS. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens , Newton, MS.
Visitation will be held from 5:00PM - 8:00PM on Tuesday, October 18 at the funeral home.Newton County Funeral Home North, Hwy 15 North, Newton, MS is in charge of arrangements 601-635-3200.

Clifton Hollingsworth was a member of First Baptist Church of Newton, MS and a United States Army Veteran. He served during World War II at which time he earned a Bronze Star. He will be remembered for his love of fishing, playing dominoes and bingo. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Preceded in death by: Wife: Libby Hollingsworth; brothers: Corbert Hollingsworth and Clinton Hollingsworth; sisters: Eula B Roberts and Ora D Doss.

Survivors Include: Daughters: Shirley Hughes and husband Larry of Warsaw, MO, Kathy Sinclair and husband Steve of Louisville, MS, Tina McDearman and husband Mark of Brandon, MS, Gina Gordon, Decatur, MS; grandchildren: Kimberly Diep, Felicia Powell, Stacey George, Katie Sinclair, Cody Gordon, Emma McDearman and Mason McDearman; great-grandchildren: Noah and Kayla Diep, and Drew and Katie Clay George.
