Obituary

John Raymond Tillery, of Newton, MS, died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Anderson Regional Medical Center North Campus in Meridian , MS .

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Newton at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 5, 2015 with a public visitation at the church from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM the same day. Dr. Brian Rushing will be officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at 3:00 PM, Monday, January 5, 2015 in Lakewood Memorial Cemetery in Clinton, MS.

In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to work on his cars. He enjoyed participating in his Sunday School Class. He enjoyed traveling out West and throughout the country with his family. He was also a veteran of WWII serving in the 101st U.S. Navy (Seabees) Construction Battalion.

He was preceded in death by his first spouse, Elizabeth Anne O'Neal Tillery, and also his second spouse, Mary James Tillery; his parents, Oliver B. and Alma Rose Tillery; one daughter, Anita Sue Tillery Blaise.

Survivors Include: Three sons, Harry Neal Tillery and wife Joyce of Meridian, MS; Frank Austin Tillery and wife Mandy of Maben, MS; and Johnnie Glen Tillery of Jackson, MS.
Eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren
One brother: Earl Reese Tillery, Montgomery, AL
