John H. Patterson, 89, of Decatur, Mississippi, died Monday, July 29, 2019 at J.G. Alexander Nursing Home in Union, Mississippi. He was born Sunday, December 8, 1929 in Pike County, Arkansas.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Newton County Funeral Home- North. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Newton County Funeral Home- North and the Burial will follow in Newton County Memorial Gardens. Bro. John was a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Columbus and Mary Etta Patterson, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Rava Patterson, sister-in-law, Ailene Patterson and a host nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Helms, Anthony Gibbon, Eugene Johnson, Eugene Patterson, Clifton Patterson and Ricky Cumberland.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Lanier, Mark Lanier, Rick Chenoweth, Kent Addy and Paul Bounds.
