Jimmy Lee Jones, age 65, and a longtime resident of Lawrence, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newton County Funeral Home - South, 100 Old Highway 15 Loop, Newton, and on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 09, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Newton County Funeral Home - South. Burial will follow in Sharon Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at Lake. Bro. Victor Bugg will officiate.

Jimmy was born Monday, July 6, 1959 at Philadelphia and was educated in the Newton Public School system. He worked in the construction business, employed with Ellingson Construction. Jimmy enjoyed his cattle farming and will be remembered by his brothers, as a "father figure." One of the most important prized possessions was his family, whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Robin Jones and his parents, Johnny Lee and Barbara Ann Porter Jones.

Survivors include his brothers, John Jones (Kim) of Hickory, and Chris Jones (Kimberly) of Union; five nephews; two nieces; five great-nieces and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Lee Jones, Dana Jones, Bryce Jones, Porter Jones, Sammy Griffin, Scott Bounds, Kyle Darsey, and Jason Posey.
